She Walks in Power by MaryLu Tyndall – Book Review

She Walks in Power reminds me of many great stories all rolled into one! It is like Robin Hood, The Sword in the Stone, and the stories of Martin Luther and William Tyndall. There are so many different components of this story, but in the end, the greatest part is when both the heroine and the hero realize where their true power comes from. The power that she walks in, comes from the power of the Holy Spirit living inside her.

MaryLu Tyndall has a way of taking deep issues and weaving them into a wonderful stories filled with romance, mystery, and daring adventures. The heroine is full of bravery and I love the fact that she finds her true courage when she discovers in whose power she is in. I encourage you to journey back to the medieval times and enjoy this story from MaryLu Tyndall. I always love a story with ladies, knights, and castles!

I have enjoyed MaryLu Tyndall’s books for many years and always anticipate each new arrival. This is another one of her great books and I look forward to the next one in the series!

On my parent's anniversary, we headed to Niagara Falls, NY! There are not words to describe the beauty of God's creation. I loved the falls. The water is so powerful!

July 2016 - Peek of Cleveland and on to NY

After the Island, we headed down through Cleveland, OH where we saw our first peek of the Republican National Convention banner at the Progressive Field.

We continued on our way up to Hamburg, NY where we attended the International BMW Motorcycle show.

My dad did this motorcycle course at the BMW rally.

Vacation 2016 - Heading out!

The first leg of the journey included traveling through Duluth, MN into Superior, WI to the Upper Peninsula in MI, and then to one of our first officials stops:
Mackinac Island, MI

On our first night, we got to about Ashland, WI. There was a ton of flooding and many roads closed, including all the main routes that we would have went on. My dad thought to find a sheriff deputy. We are thankful to the deputy who helped us take side roads (some who were only recently repaired from the flooding). It took about an extra hour, but we made it around!

One of the highlights of the trip was getting to see four of the five Great Lakes! Here are a couple photos of Lake Huron.

It was quite windy by the lake!

Here is the bridge from the U.P. of MI to Michigan

We rode the ferry to Mackinac Island

From the ferry: The view of the bridge

The island was beautiful!
The Grand Hotel
I loved the island and would love to go back someday!

July 2016 - Pre-Vacation

Where to start??? July became a CRAZY month...as I knew it would be. It flew right by, but oh, the memories and the experiences! I had a lot of fun times, some struggles, and many new adventures!

July is filled with birthdays in our family. This year, it is also the month we decided to take our vacation and a big vacation at that! Independence Day meant fireworks and parades for our family.

The week after the 4th was busy with birthday celebrations (we would be missing some while we were gone, so we celebrated early) and all the preparations that were needed to be on vacation for about 12 days. We were camping, so that meant extra packing. We bring most of our meals with us, so lots of cooking too!

Right before we left, we had been visiting family and on the way home saw a young eagle!

After a ton of packing, cooking, and getting ready, we headed out on our adventure. Dad, Mom, my younger sister, and I were off! The plans included: Traveling through Duluth, MN into Superior, WI to the Upper Peninsula in MI, Mackinac Island, MI, down through Cleveland, OH, Up to Hamburg, NY where we would attend the International BMW Motorcycle show, over to Niagara Falls, NY, then back to Cleveland, OH for the Republican National Convention, and lastly to the Ark Encounter before heading home. Our family vacation would then be over and I would head directly to my next adventure at a youth leadership camp back in MN. Does it sound like a bit of a roller coaster ride? Well, it was! Ups and downs, twists and turns, and quite the adventure it was.

So there is your preview of posts to come and the reason why I haven't posted in all of July. Stay tuned for more stories to come!
