The first leg of the journey included traveling through Duluth, MN into Superior, WI to the Upper Peninsula in MI, and then to one of our first officials stops:
Mackinac Island, MI
On our first night, we got to about Ashland, WI. There was a ton of
flooding and many roads closed, including all the main routes that we
would have went on. My dad thought to find a sheriff deputy. We are
thankful to the deputy who helped us take side roads (some who were only
recently repaired from the flooding). It took about an extra hour, but
we made it around!
One of the highlights of the trip was getting to see four of the five Great Lakes! Here are a couple photos of Lake Huron.

It was quite windy by the lake! |

We rode the ferry to Mackinac Island |

I loved the island and would love to go back someday!
